Supporting Survivors, Raising Awareness, and Strengthening Campus Response

Welcome to the Sexual Assault Response Team (SART), a multidisciplinary team dedicated to education, advocacy, and the coordination of resources for survivors of sexual assault. Our mission is to enhance campus-wide response efforts, provide trauma-informed support, and engage in prevention programming to foster a safer and more informed university community.

SART is responsible for:

  • Providing survivor-centered support by connecting individuals with advocacy, mental health, and legal resources.
  • Raising awareness through programming, training, and educational initiatives on sexual violence prevention.
  • Streamlining access to campus and community services to ensure comprehensive survivor support.
  • Strengthening campus policies and response protocols through collaboration with university stakeholders.
  • Engaging in community partnerships to promote coordinated efforts beyond the university.

Our goal is to ensure survivors receive the support and resources they need while also working to prevent sexual violence through education and engagement.

The SART team does not review or investigate cases but instead focuses on:

  • Developing and leading educational programs on consent, bystander intervention, and campus policies.
  • Providing consultation and training for faculty, staff, and students on trauma-informed responses to disclosures of sexual violence.
  • Advising survivor advocates on available resources and best practices for improving services.
  • Coordinating prevention initiatives to reduce incidents of sexual misconduct and promote a culture of respect.
  • Collaborating with campus and local agencies to strengthen institutional and community response efforts.

Confidentiality and Survivor Support

SART is committed to ensuring a survivor-centered approach that prioritizes confidentiality, support, and empowerment. While some team members are mandated reporters, we work to connect survivors with confidential resources and ensure they understand their rights and options.

Title IX Office

If you have experienced sexual misconduct and need support or guidance or would like to file a report, please contact the Title IX Office. The office is available to assist with: 
  • Understanding your rights under Title IX policies
  • Connecting you with supportive measures such as counseling, academic accommodations, and safety planning
  • Explaining options for filing a report or formal complaint
  • Providing resources for survivors on and off campus
